Variable products

TierStep works on variable products, such as a tee in sizes S, M and L.

A variable product with 30% off the first 40 units across all sizes

How it works

  • Set the campaign on the parent product (the variable product itself), on its TierStep Pricing tab.
  • All variations share one count. "First 40" means the first 40 units across all sizes and colours, the same way WooCommerce counts sales.
  • Each variation gets its own price, worked out from its own regular price. With 30% off, a $28 small costs $19.60 and a $32 large costs $22.40.

Which mode to use

Percentage off or amount off works best for variable products, because each variation keeps its own price relationship. With Fixed prices, every variation gets the same tier price.

What shoppers see

On variable products with percentage or amount-off tiers, TierStep shows the discount instead of one price, for example "Only 13 left at 30% off, then 15% off." The price range updates automatically when a tier sells out.
